Wiles is a third-year MBA/MS at the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise. He spent the summer of 2017 as a Summer Associate at Radicle Impact, a triple-bottom-line venture capital firm based in Oakland, looking at companies in agtech, cleantech, and fintech. In addition to VC investing and entrepreneurship, Wiles is constantly thinking about how to integrate user-centered design into product development across manufacturing and technology industries. In the summer of 2016, Wiles was part of the Owens Corning Strategy Leadership Development Program, where he practiced user-centered design in marketing and strategy projects for Owens Corning’s building materials business. At Michigan, he is also exploring how cities become more resilient in the face of climate change.

Prior to joining the Erb Institute, Wiles was an economic consultant at Industrial Economics (IEc), where he modeled economic activity and designed climate change adaptation materials for federal agencies. In addition to his work at IEc, Wiles has directed and continues to advise two startups in the sustainable travel industry. In spare time, Wiles plays lots of tennis and participates in lively rounds of Diplomacy, a political strategy game.
