Jessica is a second-year MBA interested in for-profit solutions to improve community food security and environmental sustainability. Prior to Ross, she worked in non-profit fund development, specifically for organizations focused on supporting local, sustainable agriculture and building equitable food systems in the state of Rhode Island. At Southside Community Land Trust, she helped to support urban farmers, many of them recently arrived refugees from agrarian backgrounds, with access to land, resources, and education to help them successfully grow food in the city. She also served as an Americorps VISTA member at Farm Fresh Rhode Island, where she helped connect Rhode Island farmers and food artisans to consumers through farmers’ market management and promotion, including the launch of the state’s first year-round, indoor farmers’ market, and the development of a local food distribution program. Jessica is originally from Hollywood, FL and has a BA in Sociology from Bryn Mawr College.
